One Direction's 'Live While We're Young' Single Breaks Sony's Pre-order Records

One Direction's "Live While We're Young" single has become the fastest selling pre-order single in Sony Music history. The song goes on sale in the U.S and Canada on October 1, 2012 and in other countries on September 30, 2012. According to Sony Music the "Live While We're Young" is currently No.1 for singles pre-orders in 40 countries.

In 2011 One Direction's 'What Makes You Beautiful' broke Sony Music U.K's records for fastest selling single in the U.K, and now One Direction has broken that record again. 'What Makes You Beautiful' is the first single from their first album"Up All Night". The song won the 2012 Brit Award for Best British Single and has been a Top 10 hit in several countries, including the U.K where it debuted at No.1.

"Up All Night" has been a No.1 in several countries and has sold 3 million copies worldwide so far according to Sony Music. One Direction is currently the biggest global act to emerge from 'The X Factor'. One Direction, which came in third place on 'The X Factor' U.K 2010, has so far sold more than 1 million copies worldwide of the DVD "Up All Night-The Live Tour" and more than 8 million singles worldwide. The group is signed to Syco Music the record company that is co-owned by 'The X Factor' executive producer Simon Cowell and Sony Music.
