One Direction’s Liam Payne is healthy — and oh-so-happy about it.
After suffering from lifelong kidney trouble, the boy bander was delighted to discover during a check-up that his organs are fully functional.
“Just been for an ultrasound on my kidney turns out its fixed from when I was a baby!!!” he wrote on Twitter. “:o so now I have two :) #weirdnewsoftheday.”
What had been plaguing his health?
Last year, the singer revealed his lifelong health problems, saying that he was “effectively dead” at birth.
“From the age of zero to four, I was always in hospital having tests done, but they couldn’t find out what was wrong,” he said. “They discovered that one of my kidneys wasn’t working properly and it had scarred.”
“I’ve still got both kidneys but one doesn’t work, so I have to be careful not to drink too much — even water — and I have to keep myself as healthy as possible.”
But it seems the tide has turned, with his scan revealing two healthy kidneys during his hospital visit this week. And when 1D bandmate Niall Horan heard the news he tweeted, “well if ur kidneys working now… comin for a pint? Ahhaha I joke.”
